**NOTE: I wrote this entry forever ago and realized that I never actually posted it... so here it is extremely late!
Matt and I decided to have some fun for Labor Day weekend and bought tickets for Bush Gardens. We didn't know what traffic would be like on the way down, so we left two hours early. We ended up getting to the park in one hour, so we had some time to spare. However, part of the park opened up early, so it was okay. We got a bite to eat in the park and then headed to our first roller coaster. The roller coaster was a ton of fun, it took you straight up and then straight down, a 90 degree drop. We got off the ride and began walking to the next one when Matt realized his keys were missing. I couldn't believe it at first... and asked, "You're kidding, right?" He quickly responded that he wasn't and we turned around quickly to go back to the ride in hopes that someone found our keys and turned them in. No one had, so we decided to retrace our steps to check to see if the keys had fallen out. We didn't find them, so we went back to the car to see if they somehow got locked inside... no luck there either. Well, at this point we went to guest services and filled out a missing key report. They said that they do a park sweep at the end of the day and if they found the keys we would get a call on Friday (because the park was closed until then).
Well, now we had no keys and no way to get home. So we went to another service department in the park and got a phone book. After making several calls, we got in touch with our insurance company, who called road side assistance, who called a guy who could come out to us and make us a key on site. So, now we were fearful of the costs, but what else could we do...While we waited for the key guy to get there we went on another ride. The guy called right as we were getting on the ride, so we told him to get started and we would be there as soon as possible. After the ride, we raced back to the parking lot (for the second time) and the guy was just finishing up. We got our key and headed back to the park for some much needed fun!
The rest of the day was great and we had so much fun together. I guess it was a blessing that if we were going to lose our keys that it happened on the first ride, so we wouldn't have to retrace the entire park.
**Side note, I also called our apartment managers and they said the Maintenance guy could let us in. So no problem there either.Well, we didn't get a call on Friday, but we have all new keys now, so no problem!
Sorry that this post was so long... I didn't expect it to be that long. But here are a few pictures!
GREAT NEWS! The keys were sent to us in the mail! They found them!
