FHE Fun!

When there's only two people in your family Family Home Evenings tend to be a little dull. So I decided to try and spice it up a bit this week. I made special cookies that were very fall themed. I read on another blog about candy corn Hershey's kisses and a cookie recipe with them. Well, I made the cookies and they are really good and they look really cute too! So I had the treat for the night done.

The delicious cookies!

I then went and bought two pumpkins and a little pumpkin saw. So now the activity was ready! Lastly, I picked a talk from April conference, so lesson done! Matt and I had a lot of fun carving our pumpkins. Matt found some templates online and our pumpkins turned out really well! Overall our Family Home Evening was tons of fun!

Our pumpkins in the dark!

At the end we went to go and put our pumpkins outside on our doorstep when we hear meowing. We went down the stairs and found a little kitten. It had a collar, but no tags. We played with the kitten for a while and then came inside. When we closed our front door it sat outside crying really loudly. It was really sad and neither Matt nor I could stand to listen to it. Matt went out and got the kitten. We decided we would let it sleep in our laundry room for the night and then take it to the office in the morning to see if someone lost a kitten. However, when we closed the laundry room door the kitten cried just as much. We decided if were going to sleep we would have to take the kitty back outside. When Matt went outside there was a lady walking her dog and Matt asked her if she knew of anyone who was missing a cat. She said no, but that she would take the kitten for the night because she has another cat, so she has a litter box and then would take the kitten to the office in the morning. We were very grateful for this lady and could sleep soundly knowing the kitten was safe!

I love the cute pumpkins! Did you find out if that lady found the kitty's owner?
